The Robert Mikkelsen Research Grant
Every year ASANOR awards the Robert Mikkelsen Research Grant of NOK 6,000 to the best application for research or conference attendance purposes. Robert Mikkelsen has been associate professor at Østfold University College, ASANOR President, Chair of the Endowment Fund, and organizer of several conferences. The recipient will be recognized at the NAAS or ASANOR conference.

The Robert Baehr Travel Grant
The ASANOR Endowment Fund awards the Robert Baehr Travel Grant of 6000 Nok to the best American Studies application for research or conference attendance purposes. Robert Baehr was associate professor of American Studies at the University of Agder and the founder of ASANOR in 1993. The recipient of the Robert Baehr Travel Grant will be recognized at the NAAS or ASANOR conference.

ASANOR Research and Travel Grants
Dependent on applications, additional ASANOR grants in support of American Studies may be awarded. The amounts awarded are to be decided by the EF Board. Further applications are open to all ASANOR members, but priority will be given to students and secondary school teachers.

Application Process
All ASANOR members are invited to apply. Applicants should submit a conference abstract, a 1-2 page summary of their research plans, and a CV to the Endowment Fund chairman, Alf Tomas Tønnessen, at alf.t.tonnessen@uia.no. All grant applications will be decided by the Endowment Fund Board. In its award process, the EF Board will consider the merits of each application and prioritize them based on the quality of research presented and their relevance to American Studies. Applicants for the Robert Mikkelsen Grant will be notified by March 5. Robert Baehr Grant and ASANOR Research and Travel Grant applicants can expect a decision by July 1. All decisions are final and may not be appealed. Any further questions regarding grant applications may also be sent to Alf Tomas Tønnessen.
